Correlations Company has direct experience in using artificial intelligence tools to predict waterflood performance based on state regulatory agency records and to find oil and gas behind pipe. Results of this work are presented in technical papers. The Company has managed three Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) grants, two of which resulted in Phase II awards, plus a Phase I grant. As contractor on these awards, the Company has met all reporting requirements in a timely manner. The results of the initial SBIR award using fractals to distribute reservoir parameters are described in SPE 38128 A Comprehensive Tool for PC Platforms. The Company currently has an ongoing DOE contract for chemical stimulation of oil wells via water imbibition that includes the use of fuzzy ranking and neural networks to evaluate field experiments. Results of the initial field work on the chemical stimulation of oil wells project is reported in SPE 89457 Artificial Intelligence Used to Evaluate 23 Single-Well Surfactant Soak Treatments. The accompanying laboratory work is presented in SPE 89424 Improved Oil Recovery from Carbonate Reservoirs by Chemical Stimulations. Additionally the Company has worked with small oil companies to secure grants under the DOE’s NPTO “Technology Development with Independents” program. Three companies won awards one of which is reported in SPE 71057 Data Mining at a Regulatory Agency to Forecast Waterflood Recovery. DOE/SBIR grants
